Lead programmer on many projects including Walden and The Night Journey, Dr. Todd Furmanki joins our Interaction Design course (famst 109ID) on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 1pm – 2 pm. He asks us to consider different kinds of adaptation (in Walden’s case, Thoreau’s book). Dr. Furmanski will walk students through a demonstration of 3D modeling in Unity.
Dr. Todd Furmanski is a researcher with a focus in interactive digital environments. Todd has a PhD in Media Arts and Practice and an MFA in Interactive Media, both from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. His research includes emergent algorithms as applied to interactivity, as well as the developing history of games and virtual spaces. He has served as the lead programmer on such projects as “Walden, a Game” and Bill Viola’s “The Night Journey,” projects developed at the USC Game Innovation Lab, a space meant to evolve the role of games within art and education.
